Kirirom National Park, officially known as Preah Suramarit-Kossamak Kirirom National Park, is a national park of the Kingdom of Cambodia located about 112 kilometers from Phnom Penh along National Road No. 4 toward Sihanoukville. The park is situated in Damrei Phut Village, Kirirom Commune, Phnom Sruoch District, Kampong Speu Province. Kirirom National Park covers an area of approximately 80,000 hectares of forest land.
Kirirom Mountain stands at an elevation of around 700 meters above sea level. It was the very first national park officially established in Cambodia.
Kirirom National Park is one of Cambodia’s most famous natural tourist destinations among the country’s large national parks. It became especially well known during the Sangkum Reastr Niyum era. The park is rich in breathtaking scenery, featuring naturally grown pine forests across the Kirirom plateau, numerous waterfalls, and a wide variety of wildlife species living in the area.
Covering approximately 8,401 hectares and located on a plateau ranging from 300 to 1,000 meters above sea level, Kirirom is the nearest large natural national park to Phnom Penh. It lies to the southwest of the Cambodian capital. Travelers can easily visit Kirirom from Phnom Penh via National Road No. 4, the same route leading to Sihanoukville. At Kilometer 87 near the Treng Trayueng intersection, visitors will find a road branching to the right toward Kirirom, which is about 27 kilometers away. The first 10 kilometers are flat roads, while the remaining 17 kilometers climb uphill through the plateau and mountains. The resort area is approximately 114 kilometers from Phnom Penh, 147 kilometers from Sihanoukville, and 44 kilometers from Kampong Speu town.
